How Much Can You Release?

When considering an equity release the amount of money that can be released could be a fundamental requirement but should not be seen as the only basis for your decision. Factors such as interest rates, set up fees, flexibility and life expectancy are also very important considerations. Some equity release products provide the facility to take future draw downs rather than taking a large lump sum at the start. This could significantly reduce the future costs as interest is only normally charged on the funds once they have been released.

The amount you can release will depend on the value of your property, the youngest applicants age and the providers lending criteria. It will also depend on which type of equity release product has been chosen, a Lifetime Mortgage or a Home Reversion Plan and could also be effected by your health and life expectancy.
